Everything I say should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Its curvy with a higher bit at the end and a rather aesthetically pleasing slope downwards towards a pretty flat strait bit. The actual graph itself consists of 2 strait lines meeting at the lower left hand corner of the graph and moving away at a 90° angle. Each line has an arrow head on the end.

This ought to head off any future bridesmaid obligations quite nicely.

katiebakes:

There was a dumb Weddings and Celebrations “Field Notes” piece this weekend (redundant, I know) about how “a growing collection” of wedding toasts are being rapped or sung and then posted on YouTube.

So I gave the concept a whirl in Altarcations:

It was a clear black night, a big first date
Walter G. was in the sheets, tryna consummate
His skirt for the eve, but she left in a huff
Rollin’ on his side, chillin’ all alone

He hit the East Side up to old Club D
On a mission tryna find Mrs. Walter G.
Seen a group full of girls, pals from Trinity
All those skirts know what up with IBD.

Seriously, if you make me speak at your wedding you are doing so at your peril because that was actually pretty fun. And ideas, I have them. For example, to those of you who like to hack into your significant others’ email — and you know who you are — I’ve got a repurposing of Salt N Pepa called SNOOP that’s got your name all up in it. Consider yourselves warned. Oh and I’ll have the chicken entree, thanks.

There’s no way you’re going to speak at my wedding if you think “huff” rhymes with “alone.” Otherwise, job well done, though I’m much more of a “PUSH IT” kind of guy myself.

jessiebarber:

At the height of the Cold War - in the era of nuclear missiles and submarines, amid the tangled cloak-and-dagger maneuverings of espionage and counterespionage - the agency was also secretly doing something else. It was trying to learn to do magic.

I always wanted to know that story, but I guess its kind of beyond the scope of your blog.

I’ll first say that my line is pretty broad, so no need to worry about crossing it at this point. Anyway, suffice it to say that the whole thing was and is completely complicated. We rode it out until the end and I’m very grateful for that. We still talk a lot and, should I end up back in Paris one day (fingers crossed), we’re both interested in getting back together. Ever since the beginning of last semester, my goal was to end up back in Paris, so we’ll see what happens. At the same time, though, I know that if I go back to Paris, that I’m doing it for myself and not for another person.

How long did you study French? What was the best thing about LIVING in Paris?

Technically, I started when I was in seventh grade, but I’d be completely full of it if I told you that I actually learned anything in seventh and eighth grade. So really, I guess it started in ninth grade. I continued in college and got my minor during my sophomore year. Unfortunately, I no longer take classes because my scheduling doesn’t allow it. As for the second part, there are so many things. I loved eating warm baguettes every day, I loved having picnics right by the Eiffel Tower, and I loved just sitting at a cafe, drinking Campari and just watching pepole. I will say, one of the things I loved was taking the metro - which I know sounds really bizarre, but I just loved it. I wrote a post once about the raw emotions that you find in the metro, and I think it’s just the blatant display of humanity that really makes it so captivating for me.

How long have you been swimming for?

I’ve been swimming maybe since I was six or so? Though that was summer league, so that doesn’t really count. Unfortunately, I never swam year-round because I was always playing club soccer, which I loved. Until the age of sixteen, I only swam during the summer. Actually, the only reason I really got into swimming was because I was cut from the basketball team my sophomore year of high school. Best. Tragedy. Ever. So at that point I just decided to join the high school swim team. I swam sophomore through senior year and went to state all three years. I wasn’t nearly good enough to swim during college, but I eventually found the Masters Swim Program, which was just some sixty year olds and then a few college students thrown in. Junior year, a miracle happened (seriously, it was the best happening of my college career in Missouri) and two guys formed a college swim club. I am currently the president of the club and we have an awesome time. I will say, however, that being president in no way means that I am good.

You are awesome/interesting! way to go! Keep up the posts about your life/opinions.

Haha, thank you. I’m going to be honest: I think I’m a really awesome person and I’d want to be friends with me, but I can never explain why other people feel the same way about me. I mean, gee, I posted something about my economics professor the other day on a whim and was surprised to see people actually reblogged that! But thank you for your support anyway. I do this blog for myself and it’s great that other people are entertained along the way.

Not having lunch and starting to drink at 3:30pm was probably the red flag yesterday that should have tipped me off that the night would not end well.

I don’t do the whole “smile on command” thing very well.

At some point in the night, I apparently bit my tongue because it has a giant bruise right now.

Last night marked the second time that I’ve ever blacked out, and inevitably my OCD kicked in. My mom said that I was cleaning the hotel room. I also managed to put all of my clothes neatly on their hangers.

The END key no longer works on my cell phone. Which is really annoying when I can’t hang up after leaving someone a message or checking my voicemail.

My date was [rightfully] pissed off at me. We only danced once before I was escorted upstairs.

Read that last sentence again, and then let this soak in: I was escorted away from a social ball/charity where I was an honoree. Classy.

notthatkindagay:
